SWB serves as counsel to over fifty multiemployer benefit funds including defined benefit plans, defined contribution plans, group health plans, training and educational funds, vacation benefit plans, prepaid legal plans, and supplemental unemployment benefit plans. Our firm also represents single employers and benefits consultants in employee benefit-related matters, such as pension plan design, administration and compliance, 401(k) or other defined contribution plan design, administration and compliance and group health plan design administration and compliance.

We regularly provide advice to multiemployer benefit fund Boards of Trustees and single employers regarding benefit plan design, draft plan documents, advise on matters relating to plan administration and compliance with applicable federal laws, including ERISA, the Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, SECURE Act, and Internal Revenue requirements.  Our firm also represents multiemployer benefit plans and their trustees in DOL and IRS audits and investigations as well as in ERISA litigation involving claims for benefits, collection of delinquent contributions, and breach of fiduciary duty claims.

Since its inception, our firm has had a specific focus on representing multiemployer benefit funds in the construction industry.  Our experience in representing multiemployer benefit funds and employer associations in the construction industry provides our firm a unique understanding of not only the complexities of legal compliance but also the challenges of the construction industry.
