Dan’s practice is devoted to counseling and litigation in the practice areas of employee benefits, labor, and employment law. He represents numerous multi-employer plan clients including employee retirement and employee welfare benefit plans and their trustees. He regularly advises on issues arising under ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code and counsels clients with regard to benefit plan design and administration, defined benefit plan funding solutions, fiduciary duty and prohibited transactions, complex investments, and best practices from a fiduciary standpoint.
Dan also represents private and public employers in traditional labor law matters and regularly serves as chief spokesperson in collective bargaining negotiations as well as represents employers in employment litigation.
Dan has given presentations on a wide variety of topics, including trustee education programs, programs on pension funding legislation and methodologies, and seminars geared to the insurance industry on employment practice liability (EPL) claims and underwriting.
Dan obtained his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University in 1988, and his Juris Doctor from Villanova School of Law in 1993. He is a member of the bars of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the States of New Jersey and New York as well as the United States Supreme Court and numerous federal district and circuit courts. In 2022, Dan was inducted as a Fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
